I have heard all kinds of stories in regards to Reflexology. The one statement that couldn't be more far from the truth is when people think reflexology is a "foot massage", or when their previous session was painful. As a Certified Reflexology Therapist I can assure you that this is false. Reflexology is not a "foot massage" nor should it be painful. Some people may experience slight discomfort or tenderness at certain reflex points, which is normal. This may indicate an area of imbalance or congestion in the corresponding body part. This discomfort should subside as the therapy continues and should not be painful.
If at any time during the session you feel discomfort or pain, it is important to communicate this to me so that I can adjust the pressure or technique as needed. Reflexology should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience,
My goal during a session is to help your body heal itself. There are so many benefits to this modality. Here are just a few:
Reduce stress (we all have this from time to time, right?) and improve overall well-being: Reflexology can help to relax the body and mind, making it a great way to reduce stress and promote overall well-being.If at any time during the session you feel discomfort or pain, it is important to communicate this to the therapist so that they can adjust the pressure or technique as needed. Reflexology should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and it is important to find a therapist who is trained and experienced in the technique in order to ensure a comfortable and beneficial session.
Improve circulation: The pressure applied during reflexology can help to improve circulation, which can help to increase energy levels and improve overall health.
Relieve pain: Reflexology has been shown to be effective in reducing pain and discomfort, making it a great option for those suffering from conditions such as headaches, back pain, and arthritis.
Improve sleep: Reflexology can help to relax the body and mind, making it easier to fall asleep and achieve a deeper, more restful sleep.
Boost immune function: Some studies have suggested that reflexology may help to boost the immune system, helping the body to fight off illness and infection.
The benefits of reflexology are endless. In the last two years I have had the experience in working with all kinds of clients. My objective is to help your body help itself.
